Words cannot describe how much I miss my Jake. He was a true friend. My family acquired him from a breeder when I was in 3rd grade. We grew up together. He started “slowing down” when he turned 12 and my family did everything we could to make his geriatric years as comfortable as possible. Still, he continued to be my shining star. I would come home from college every weekend just to see my “Jakie.” One night in February 2010, he started crying non-stop and his eyes just didn’t look right. He would walk around in circles and fall over…he couldn’t even hold his stance to eat or urinate. My heart absolutely broke to see him that way. We took him to the vet and were told that the prognosis was not good--a tumor pressing on his cerebellum. We let him go that day to the Rainbow Bridge and I hope to see him again someday. Until then, I will hold on to the 15 years of wonderful memories. February 7, 2010.

Jake, I miss you and think of you always.
